Job Description

SUMMARY:
The Factory Steward is responsible for overseeing day to day custodial functions and building maintenance to ensure the factory and offices are clean, well-maintained, and safe.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Custodial Functions:
o Performs light cleaning and surface disinfection on a scheduled basis o Disposes of trash from buildings to dumpster o Manages recyclables and break down and bundle cardboard for recycling o Monitors buildings for cleanliness, pests, and actual or potential safety concerns o Checks all soap dispensers, toilet paper, and paper towel dispensers daily, and refills as needed o Spot sweep/mop factory floor daily o Shop vacuum corners and periphery of factory floor monthly o Spot clean common area counters and tables daily as needed o Spot clean bathrooms daily as needed o Manages inventory of cleaning supplies, paper supplies, and kitchen supplies and notifies management when re-ordering is necessary o Restocks coffee supplies as needed o Wipes out refrigerators monthly o Checks refrigerators and discards expired food weekly •
Building Maintenance:
o Performs routine maintenance on facilities and makes minor repairs as needed o Collaborates with management to schedule routine inspections, more complex maintenance needs, and emergency repairs with outside vendors o Checks sump pump daily and ensures proper drainage o Addresses basic plumbing issues (e.g., toilet overflows) and coordinates with management if a plumber is needed •
Quality and Safety Management:
o Identifies problems to be repaired or maintenance needed and alerts management team o Maintains compliance with applicable health and safety standards including OSHA and NFPA o Checks eyewash stations monthly o Keeps walkways free of slip, trip, and fall hazards- sweeps walkways and applies ice-melt as needed • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Pay:
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
