THIS POSITION REPORTS TO THE SANTA FE OFFICE AND IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR TELEWORK. THIS POSTING WILL BE USED FOR ONGOING RECRUITMENT AND MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME. APPLICANT LISTS MAY BE SCREENED MORE THAN ONCE.
Why does the job exist? This position will serve as the records custodian for the agency and will be responsible for managing and responding to Inspection of Public Records (IPRA) requests. This position will also review, process and complete refunds, independent contractor agreements, and return to work applications. How does it get done? Manage and coordinate response to IPRA requests, including working with internal staff and external partners to assemble and produce records. Review and draft documents including contracts, correspondence, and responses to ERB members, IPRA requesters, and external partners. Interpret complex policy and procedures to ERB members and administrative staff under the direction and guidance of ERB counsel. Participate in administrative proceedings and litigation; submit or file pleadings, perform legal research, case law, statutes, and practices. Who are the customers? NMERB active and retired members, NMERB staff, NMERB external partners, and IPRA requesters. Ideal Candidate NMERB active and retired members, NMERB staff, NMERB external partners, and IPRA requesters. Minimum Qualification Associate Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or Accounting and one (1) year of directly related job experience in the areas of office administration, budgeting, purchasing, finance, accounting, auditing, cash management, contract management, and/or in the procedures of business and management principles involved in strategic planning. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling three (3) years may substitute for the required education and experience. Employment Requirements Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results. Working Conditions Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage.
