The ideal candidate will be responsible for cleaning restrooms, floors, stairwells, carpets, equipment, and chalk/whiteboards; emptying trash cans; stocking paper towels, toilet paper, and soap; wiping/disinfecting surfaces; assembling furniture; executing event setup and take-down, snow removal, and building security; maintaining custodial supplies; and other duties as assigned.
PER EXECUTIVE ORDER 2026-001, ALL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN WAIVED FOR THIS POSITION UNTIL JUNE 30, 2026.

Required Qualifications This position requires graduation from high school or equivalent education and six (6) months of custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial, industrial, hospital, governmental or similar environment; OR Six (6) months of general work experience and six (6) months of custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial industrial, hospital, governmental or similar environment; OR Six (6) months of experience as a Custodial Worker Trainee in Nevada State service; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances. A valid Class "C" driver's license or higher operator's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. Schedule The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.; this is subject to change based on organizational needs. This position is designated as Essential Personnel. Compensation Grade Grade 21 In classified service, salary is in Grade and Step. The Step is determined based on the Nevada Administrative Code. Salary placement above a Step 01 at initial appointment is determined based on the recruitment, the candidate's qualifications, internal equity and budgets.
