Job Description

Full-Time (1.0 FTE), 8-Hour Day, 12 Month Position.
SECOND SHIFT
3:00 - 11:00 p.m. Additional Night Differential Pay of 3% The following work activities are listed as examples only and in no event shall an employee be limited to only those examples listed here: Dust, vacuum, sweep Wash windows, walls, woodwork, water closets, tubs and bowls Gather and dispose of refuse Uses heavy mechanical equipment to strip, polish and wax floors May open and secure buildings May varnish, shellac and polish furniture and brass May tend the furnace May be required to perform minor maintenance tasks such as unskilled painting or carpentry May be required to replace lights, hang window shades and Venetian blinds Carry out all other duties as assigned Job Qualifications Non-Competitive, Labor class Civil Service position Working knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies and equipment Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions Ability to read and write Willingness to perform janitorial tasks Good communications skills, thoroughness, cleanliness and physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position Contributing member of a team
