Porter for Residential Building

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Porter to join our team in Freeport, NY. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization across our facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment. This role requires a proactive approach to custodial tasks and facilities maintenance, supporting the overall operations of the property. Prior experience in cleaning, janitorial work, or custodial services is preferred, along with skills in floor care, buffing, and industrial cleaning. The Porter will play a vital role in upholding high standards of cleanliness and safety within our premises. Responsibilities Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal to maintain cleanliness throughout the facility Conduct floor care activities such as buffing, stripping, and waxing to preserve flooring quality Assist with custodial tasks related to both residential and commercial cleaning projects Support facilities maintenance activities including minor repairs and inspections Ensure all areas are safe, clean, and well-organized at all times Use appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies efficiently and safely Assist with set-up and breakdown for events or special functions as needed Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when supplies need replenishing Requirements Proven experience in cleaning, janitorial services, custodial work, or facilities maintenance preferred Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing and stripping is a plus Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and safety standards Physical ability to perform manual tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods Excellent organizational skills and reliability Prior experience with industrial or commercial cleaning is advantageous Ability to work independently with minimal supervision This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a well-maintained environment while developing skills in facilities upkeep. Pay:

$17.75 - $18.00 per hour
