Janitor/Cleaner The Cleaning Authority - 3.2 Greece, NY Job Details Full-time $16.25 - $19.00 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Heavy equipment operation Auto scrubber for floor cleaning Industrial equipment Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Cleaner/Janitor to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout our facility. This role focuses on thorough bathroom cleaning, extensive floor care including vacuuming, mopping, and operating a floor scrubber, as well as general cleaning duties to ensure a safe, tidy, and welcoming environment for employees and visitors. Key Responsibilities Thoroughly clean and sanitize all bathrooms, including toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors, countertops, dispensers, floors, and walls. Restock supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels as needed. Perform daily vacuuming of carpets, rugs, and high-traffic areas using industrial vacuum cleaners. Mop and maintain all hard-surface floors to remove dirt, spills, and stains. Operate and maintain a floor scrubber machine for large floor areas, including proper setup, use of cleaning solutions, and post-use cleaning and storage of equipment. Dust and wipe down surfaces, furniture, windowsills, baseboards, and other fixtures throughout the building. Empty and clean all waste receptacles and dispose of trash and recycling according to facility guidelines. Spot-clean walls, doors, glass partitions, and light switches as required. Identify and report any maintenance issues, damages, or supply shortages to the supervisor. Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and handling of cleaning chemicals. Secure the facility at the end of shift (locking doors, turning off lights/equipment) when working closing shifts. Adapt to additional cleaning tasks as assigned to meet daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules. Schedule & Physical Requirements Ability to work early mornings, evenings, or weekends depending on facility needs. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift up to 50 lbs, and operate heavy equipment (floor scrubber) for extended periods. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean, professional environment.
