Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for ensuring the facility is well-maintained, safe, and clean. This includes performing routine repairs, general upkeep, and maintaining the overall cleanliness of the building and grounds.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Primary Responsibilities:
Maintain sanitary conditions in and around the facility including classrooms, bathrooms, offices, and common areas including: Mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning restrooms, and maintaining overall cleanliness of the facility Monitor and clean up any debris outside of the facility and playground as needed. Maintain inventory of all maintenance supplies and submit supply orders in a timely manner. Receive and store deliveries of supplies. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and painting. Assess and report any facility needs to supervisor. Ensure the safety and security of the facility including maintaining clear fire exits, emergency and exit sign lighting and reporting any maintenance issues or safety concerns. Remove all garbage from the facility daily or more often as needed and place it in the dumpster. Work cooperatively with staff, supervisor and operations manage to complete any additional assigned tasks as it relates to performance standards and licensing.
Secondary Responsibilities:
Satisfactory completion of mandatory trainings. Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED Experience in janitorial work
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to solve problems and be flexible to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules. Ability to carry out oral and written instructions. Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, and electrical systems Ability to work independently and work well with others. Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and maintain a well-organized work area. Ability to identify problems, analyze situations, and develop solutions. Knowledge of workplace safety regulations and procedures. Basic computer skills.
Physical Demands:
Active listening, writing, and verbal communication skills. Must be able to tolerate loud to moderate noise. Frequently required to sit, stand, and walk. Physical agility, including bending, kneeling, and reaching. Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds
