School Custodian

Job Summary The Cathedral School is seeking a dependable and hardworking custodian to join our facilities team. The ideal candidate takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities:

Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, and common areas daily. Perform routine floor care including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and buffing. Empty trash and recycling bins and ensure proper disposal. Monitor and restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper. Assist with setting up and breaking down furniture for school events and activities. Conduct minor repairs and report larger maintenance needs to the Facilities Manager. Follow all health, safety, and security procedures to ensure a safe school environment.

Qualifications:

Previous custodial, janitorial, or maintenance experience in a school or similar setting is a plus. Knowledge of cleaning techniques and the use of cleaning equipment and chemicals. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods, and perform physical labor. Successful completion of a background check is required.
