Job Description
The Norwich City School District is seeking a Cleaner. The Cleaner position performs routine work requiring efficient performance of simple cleaning tasks of an arduous nature. The work of employees in this class involves the thorough execution of tasks which follows a well-established routing. Does related work as required.
Duties:
Dusts chairs, tables, and other furniture Washes windows, walls, woodwork, water closets, tubs, and bowls Sweeps, mops, and vacuums floors Gathers and disposes of refuse Uses heavy mechanical equipment in stripping, waxing, and polishing floors May open or secure building May varnish, shellac, and polish furniture and brass May be required to perform minor maintenance tasks such as unskilled painting and carpentry Replaces lights, window shades or venetian blinds Full Performance knowledge, skills, abilities, and personal characteristics: Working knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment. Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written instructions. Ability to get along well with others. Ability to read and write. Thoroughness and cleanliness. Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position. Benefits:
