Porter

Hours:

7:00 am

• 3:00 pm
• 40 hours/week. Days
• Primarily Monday
• Friday.

All staff rotate weekends and Holidays. May need to work one weekend every couple of months. The Porter is responsible for cleaning and maintenance necessary to comply with Maryknoll Sisters standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety at the Center. The Porter participates in training to improve necessary skills, and is obligated at all times to ensure that the standards and requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are met in the areas assigned. Responsibilities and Duties The Porter's primary responsibilities are: maintaining the floors of offices and common rooms (buffing, stripping, waxing, etc.), moving of furniture, setting up meeting rooms, seasonal maintenance, cleaning windows, shampooing rugs/chairs, office cleaning and other housekeeping tasks assigned at the discretion of the Supervisor. Qualifications and Skills Previous floor care experience required

• stripping, waxing and buffing skills.

Good communication skills needed to work with others on the team and carry our daily schedule. Good physical stamina for walking and working around the complex. Ability to lift up to 65 lbs. English language, speaking and reading skills that permit understanding of Sisters needs.
