Porter/Doorman

Overview :

Porter, under the direct supervision of the superintendent or Handyman, as required, is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for the residents and employees of the complexes. The Porter will be required to perform basic maintenance tasks. The focus should be to observe and report any areas considered being a hindrance to providing healthy and safe environment for our tenants and their guests.

Responsibilities:

Sweep and spot mop stairwells Wash stairwells Sweep and mop lobby floors Dust vertical surfaces removing finger marks and smudges Remove all garbage from building on a daily basis, cleans compactor rooms Clean garbage cans immediately after trash removal Set out runners, clean and return to storage when not in use, as required.

Snow Removal:

Snow removal is conducted on an as needed basis. This process will also include rock salt placement.

Recycling:

Administer the recycling program as per the guidelines under the New York City Recycling Program.

Requirements:

Must have a great work ethic and desire to deliver residents a high standard of living. Position is a mobile role, requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling on a daily basis. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. Porter must have availability to work all shifts, including evening or weekend shifts
