POSITION SUMMARY
Cleans and sanitizes assigned areas, including such duties as mopping, dusting, and trash removal. May complete duties related to window washing, meeting set up, pool cleaning, snow and ice removal, groundskeeping, and other related responsibilities. Ensures Y is attractive and clean by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintains upkeep of assigned area and equipment. May perform wet and dust mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, pool cleaning, painting, vacuuming, and seasonal activities dealing with lawn care and snow removal. Ensures YMCA building and property is secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Interior Carpentry and Finish Repairs
- Repair loose or damaged baseboards, trim, and drywall.
- Patch holes from impacts or installations.
- Touch-up paint on walls, corridors, and fixtures.
- Install or mount whiteboards, artwork, screens, dispensers, and blinds. 2. Minor Plumbing and Drainage
- Fix leaky faucets, clogged drains, and faulty toilets.
- Replace or repair plumbing fixtures.
- Replaces soap, paper towels, and other supplies.
- Address minor water damage issues to prevent spread. 3. Light Electrical and HVAC Maintenance
- Perform basic electrical inspections.
- Maintain HVAC systems by cleaning filters, checking components, and ensuring efficient operation. 4. Door and Hardware Maintenance
- Repair or replace door handles, locks, and hinges.
- Adjust or replace door hardware to ensure smooth operation. 5. Furniture and Equipment Assembly
- Assemble furniture, shelving, and equipment.
- Install and secure furniture to prevent movement or damage. Operates related motorized and non-motorized equipment. 6. General Maintenance and Inspections
- Inspect and report on the condition of fixtures, systems, and finishes.
- Identify and document maintenance needs for management or contractors.
- Record and report all needed repairs and make repairs as directed. 7. Safety and Compliance
- Ensure repairs and installations meet safety standards.
- Prevent hazards such as electrical faults or structural instability.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Equivalent to a high school education 2. 3-5 years of related experience preferred 3. Knowledge of English grammar with ability to read/interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, etc. 4. Considerable judgment and resourcefulness required 5. Requires normal attention and alertness with frequent periods of concentration 6. Moderate to frequent interdepartmental or external contacts on routine matters 7. Ability to report and record maintenance requests 8. Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment 9. Ability to understand, operate and upkeep office equipment 10. Little or no confidential data involved 11. Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1. Requires medium physical effort, strength and agility to carry out essential duties 2. Frequent setting up of heavy equipment, sometimes working in uncomfortable positions 3. Ability to erect and stand on ladders and platforms at heights up to 30 feet 4. Ability to work with paint, cleaning equipment, chemical compounds, solvents, cleaners, and solutions in dry, liquid, powder, spray, and aerosol forms 5. Ability to paint, clean equipment and operate motorized equipment as needed 6. Ability to work in conditions that will create dirt and dust 7. Ability to perform essential maintenance to facility or equipment which may involve, but not limited to the following activities: semi - reaching to full-reach overhead; crouching; kneeling; shoveling; carrying, working in narrow and/or confining spaces: underground, overhead, and at ground level; twisting of the waist, shoulders, and legs; and lying on stomach and/or back 8. Some exposure to health and safety hazards, as well as lost time accidents

Monday-Friday, 5am-1pm (1 hour paid lunch)

$21.70 - $27.00 (depends on skills, experience and education)
