Janitor / Facility Custodian Waverly NY Monday thru Friday $17.00 per hour

Position Summary:

The Janitor is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of the car auction and reconditioning facility. This position ensures that all work areas including offices, restrooms, breakrooms, and production areas are kept clean, safe, and presentable for employees, customers, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

Clean and sanitize offices, restrooms, break areas, and common spaces daily. Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors throughout the facility, including the reconditioning and auction prep areas. Empty trash and recycling bins and ensure proper waste disposal. Maintain cleanliness in vehicle prep and detail bays, ensuring walkways are clear of debris or spills. Clean windows, walls, and surfaces as needed. Restock restroom and breakroom supplies (paper products, soap, etc.). Perform minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs and reporting any facility repairs needed. Assist with cleaning and preparing vehicles for auction areas when requested. Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and report hazards or unsafe conditions immediately. Support special event or auction day setups and cleanups as required.

Qualifications:

Previous janitorial or custodial experience preferred Ability to work independently with attention to detail. Strong understanding of cleaning chemicals, safety data sheets (SDS), and safe handling procedures. Reliable, punctual, and able to manage time efficiently. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods.
