Full Job Description Minimum Acceptable Training & Experience:

Possession of a high school or one (1) year experience in building maintenance or cleaning work

Requirements:

• Skill in performing building cleaning tasks & unskilled maintenance;
• Familiarity with use of cleaning supplies & equipment and with common tools used for repair & maintenance;
• Ability to understand and follow oral instructions;
• Ability to get along well with others, particularly teachers & students;
• Dependability;
• Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.

Essential Job Functions:

• Sweeps, mops and waxes floors using appropriate equipment;
• Washes windows;
• Dusts & cleans woodwork, furniture & other articles;
• Participates in the operation & maintenance of low pressure boilers;
• Loads & unloads truck & stock items in appropriate storage;
• Replaces light bulbs & repairs switches;
• Maintains building security by locking & unlocking doors & gates;
• Shovels snow & sands sidewalks;
• Collects & stores trash & garbage for pickup by the City
• Delivers packages & messages;
• Moves & sets up furniture, supplies & equipment;
• Notifies supervisor of needed supplies & equipment for re-ordering;
• Cleans & disinfects bathrooms, showers, etc.;
• Performs related tasks as assigned.
