Facilities Manager Position Summary:
The Custodian is responsible for maintaining clean, sanitary, and safe facilities. This role supports the school's daily operations by performing general cleaning, light groundskeeping, and event setup to create a welcoming environment for students and staff.Key Responsibilities:
Cleaning & Sanitizing:
Clean and disinfect classrooms, restrooms, cafeterias, gymnasiums, and common areas, including mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing high-touch surfaces.Safety & Security:
Secure facilities by locking doors and closing windows; monitor for safety hazards and report maintenance needs to the supervisor.Waste Management:
Empty trash, clean receptacles, and transport waste to designated dumpster areas.Groundskeeping:
Sweep sidewalks and entryways; pick up litter as needed.Supply Management:
Maintain orderly janitorial closets; monitor and report supply needs.Event Support:
Set up and break down furniture for school events and after-school activities as needed.Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift, carry, and push up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of cleaning methods and procedures.
- Familiarity with SDS/chemical safety standards.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Positive workplace attitude.
