Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Shop Janitor to maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization within our facility. In this vital role, you will ensure that all areas of the shop are kept in pristine condition, creating a welcoming environment for staff and visitors alike. Your proactive approach to cleaning and maintenance will help uphold our high standards of hygiene and operational efficiency. Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of shop floors, workstations, restrooms, and common areas using appropriate cleaning tools and supplies. Conduct routine janitorial duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and sanitizing surfaces to maintain a hygienic environment. Assist with floor care tasks such as buffing, waxing, and polishing to preserve the shop's appearance and safety standards. Support industrial cleaning activities, including cleaning machinery and equipment as needed to ensure optimal operation. Maintain cleanliness of tools, supplies, and storage areas, ensuring all materials are organized and properly stored. Participate in facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or reporting larger issues to the appropriate personnel. Follow safety protocols during all cleaning activities to prevent accidents or injuries. Qualifications Proven experience in janitorial or custodial roles, preferably within a commercial or industrial setting. Knowledge of cleaning techniques including floor care, buffing, and general sanitation practices. Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, sweepers, mops, and vacuums. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and operating cleaning machinery safely. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards. Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently throughout shifts. Previous experience with facilities maintenance or residential painting is a plus but not required.
