Shop Custodian

Immediate opening for a Shop Custodian in the Vandalia, OH area! Position Summary:

The Shop Custodian maintains a clean, safe, and organized facility by performing routine and deep cleaning, basic maintenance, and supporting daily shop operations. Key Responsibilities Clean and maintain shop floors, offices, restrooms, and break areas Operate custodial equipment (vacuums, shop vacs, forklifts, ladders, lifts) safely Handle and dispose of waste and hazardous materials per guidelines Perform minor maintenance (e.g., light bulbs, basic repairs) and report issues Respond to urgent cleaning needs and assist with shop setup as needed Follow all safety procedures and communicate effectively with team members Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required 1-3 years of custodial or facility experience preferred (manufacturing a plus) Knowledge of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and safety practices Basic math and computer skills (Microsoft Office preferred) Forklift experience required (certification or ability to obtain) Ability to operate custodial tools, ladders, and lifts Scissor lift experience and basic maintenance knowledge preferred

Physical Demands Standing/walking:

~90% of shift

Lifting:

Up to 20 lbs. (100 lbs. with assistance) Frequent bending, pushing/pulling; occasional climbing

Schedule:

Monday - Friday 6:30 am - 4:00 pm (occasional overtime)

Pay:
