Part-Time Cleaner / Custodian City of Westerville, OH - 5.0 Westerville, OH Job Details Part-time 15 hours ago Qualifications Driver's License Full Job Description Description This is a manual labor position providing the care, housekeeping, cleaning and maintenance of Parks and Recreation Department buildings and properties as assigned. The individual in this role will maintain the Parks and Recreation Facilities in clean, orderly and safe condition. This is primarily a 2nd Shift position, from 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM. Work is performed on site for an average of 15-29 hours a week. This position is being posted until filled.
SUPERVISION
This work is performed under the general direction of the Facility Maintenance Manager through written and oral instructions. The employee must be able to perform effectively and efficiently unsupervised. Work is reviewed though written performance evaluations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF WORK
(May not include all duties performed.) Vacuums, sweeps, mops, scrubs, buffs and polishes floors; shampoos carpets; washes windows and walls. Dusts, polishes, and cleans tables, desks, and countertops. Moves tables, furniture and equipment. Cleans and sanitizes restrooms, showers, locker rooms and drinking fountains; replenishes restroom supplies; clears drains. Empties trash containers and recycling containers into the appropriate dumpster. Sweeps or blows off outside walkways; shovels snow; spread ice melt and pick up litter. Maintains the security of the buildings while performing essential functions. Loads and unloads cleaning supplies, materials and equipment. Makes minor repairs to vacuums, toilet seats, paper dispensers, soap dispensers, and replaces light bulbs. Notifies supervisor when supplies are needed or other items for consideration. Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF WORK
Completion of the tenth grade and some experience in cleaning; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the following knowledge, abilities and skills: Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license. Minimum age requirement is 18 years old. Ability to work flexible schedules which may require weekends, days or nights and varying hours as needed. Red Cross CPR and First Aid preferred.
RETIREMENT PENSION
The City contributes 14% monthly toward retirement benefits offered through the Ohio Public Employee Retirement System. The employee pension payment share is 10% of gross salary. Personal Leave Eligible for 24 hours of personal leave if more than 500 hours worked in previous calendar year. Eligible for 40 hours of personal leave if more than 1000 worked in previous calendar year.
