Safely and efficiently transport students in a type 10 passenger vehicle along a designated route. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate type 10 vehicles in all weather conditions to transport individual or small groups of students. Conduct a daily pre and post trip inspection as prescribed by Oregon Department of Education. Report mechanical difficulties according to department procedure. Complete assigned forms and reports in a timely manner. Maintain the vehicle to provide a safe and clean atmosphere, inside and out. Maintain discipline in the vehicle and report discipline challenges to appropriate staff; attend student-parent meetings regarding transportation discipline challenges, as required. Interact professionally and courteously with students, parents, and school personnel from diverse cultures and backgrounds. Contact appropriate emergency personnel, administer first aid to passengers as needed and prepare accident and incident reports as needed. Attend department meetings as scheduled. Maintain appropriate licenses, certifications, and training hours as required. Maintain regular and punctual attendance. Perform related duties as assigned. High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of employment. Possession of a valid Oregon Driver's License with a clean driving record. Possession of or ability to obtain a Type 10 certificate from the Oregon Department of Education within two weeks of hire. The District will provide training. Ability to obtain ODE Fingerprint/Background clearance. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written communication. Ability to operate a type 10 vehicle in a safe and lawful manner during varying weather, road, and, traffic conditions. Adhere to the federal requirements of a drug free workplace. As assigned by Supervisor. Possess the ability to sit for extended periods of time and perform regular climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, walking, and crouching. Frequent talking, hearing, reaching, and use of hands for fine manipulation. Possess ability to exert force to 50-100 pounds occasionally and 25-50 pounds of force frequently. Possess the ability to drag 125 lbs. 30 feet in 30 seconds Frequent near and far acuity, depth perception, focal length change, color vision, and peripheral vision. Possible exposure to inclement weather conditions and hazardous traffic and/or driving conditions. Exposure to noise levels ranging from moderate to very loud. Provide a clean and safe environment for the school's students. Reports to Lead Custodian. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties of this position include the following. Employees in this position perform some or all of the following tasks. Other duties may be assigned. Fills a position designated for School Custodian. Performs all general cleaning duties, including, but not inclusive of: Working from prepared work schedule, sweep, scrub, wash and polish floors and vacuum rugs and carpets. Clean and dust walls, furniture, woodwork and other surfaces. Pick up paper and other refuse on grounds, sweep walks and entrances to building. Wash, scrub and disinfect rest rooms. Clean windows, door glass, drinking fountains, sinks, window sills, and blinds. Empty and clean waste containers, replace light bulbs. Assist in moving and rearranging chairs, tables, desks, furniture and other fixtures and equipment. Sets up & cleans up cafeteria as required. Perform minor maintenance and repair of custodial equipment. Correct and/or report safety, sanitary and fire hazards when observed. Assist in the complete cleaning and routine maintenance of buildings, grounds and equipment during breaks and non-student days. Assist in securing the buildings at the end of each shift. Mows and weeds around buildings & curbs. Coordinates the setting up, oversight and taking down of evening activities in the school buildings. Perform basic computer skills. High school diploma or the equivalent. Able to relate well to students, staff and public. Read, understand and carry out oral and/or written instructions. Adhere to the federal requirements of a drug-free work place. Able to perform custodial functions at the rate expected of custodians in the same building. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Possess the physical ability to regularly attend work and fulfill the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Lift, move, or be able to carry objects weighing 60 lbs. Use cleaning materials and equipment. Responsibilities may require the employee to stand and/or walk for long periods of time. Able to work from scaffolding and an 8' ladder. Note:
