Compensation:
$71,810 - $93,108 New hires will be placed up to Step 4 dependent on prior supervisor experience. JOB SUMMARY
The Custodial Supervisor is responsible for leading, supervising and directing the day-to day operations of the district custodial staff in order to promote efficient practices that result in clean and attractive facilities. Must have previous experience in the custodial field including familiarity with cleaning methods, materials, and equipment used in custodial work. Must be able to provide leadership, training, and support for the custodial staff. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties of this position include the following. Employees in this position perform some or all of the following tasks. Other duties may be assigned.
Follows, maintains, and enforces all District policy(ies) and procedures.
Understanding of appropriate collective bargaining agreements as well as all state and federal laws/regulations.
Monitors and inspects custodial work for the purpose of ensuring adherence to established district cleaning standards. Monitors safe working practices for the purpose of ensuring efficient practices and promoting proper working habits. Meets regularly with building administrators and others to determine district facility requirements & needs.
Acts as an advisor to the District Accounting Manager on all questions and matters related to the facilities.
Participates in the recruitment and selection of personnel for the purposes of making recommendations for hiring quality staff. Helps coordinate the scheduling of substitutes for the purpose of ensuring daily cleaning is completed. Oversees the monthly custodial supply order process and ensures orders are complete and received in a timely manner. Responds to after hours calls/emergencies and is available on a 24/7 on call basis.
Directs Personnel as assigned for the purpose of maximizing the efficiency of the workforce and meeting shift requirements. Provides training and supervision for district custodial staff for the purpose of promoting safe and efficient practices. Develop and implement short and long term strategies to support continuous improvement of custodial services. Develops and plans for seasonal work needs. Develops a system for dealing efficiently with emergency repair problems. Initiates purchase orders for materials, as needed.
Ensures that set-up, take down and moving of tables, chairs and equipment meetings, athletic events, graduation is accurate and efficient and meets District needs.
Makes recommendations for the custodial budget and the purchasing of supplies and equipment.
Maintains an inventory and recommends the purchase of suitable supplies, tools, and equipment.
Works constantly to promote the safety, health and comfort of the students and employees.
Oversee State and Federal-mandated facility testing and reporting is completed by due dates.
Keeps the Superintendent and Principals advised of all custodial problems and changes and makes recommendations as they are needed and/or desired.
Coordinates with district contractors, third party vendors, and community for any community use of facilities to ensure custodial coverage. Reports safety, sanitary and fire hazards immediately to the appropriate agency and supervisor.
Provide monthly reports to Superintendent on district wide projects and progress.
Interacts thoughtfully and courteously with students, staff and parents and resolves conflict in a professional manner.
Maintains appropriate certifications and training hours as required. Attends work regularly and is punctual.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stand and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance and smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, ability to adjust focus, depth perception and peripheral vision. Demonstrate strength and dexterity to operate maintenance tools and machinery.
