$17.00 per hour, plus benefits Position Summary The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Rogue Valley is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and self-motivated Maintenance & Custodian to help ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for youth, staff, volunteers, and visitors. Under the supervision of the Director of Operations, this position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, functionality, and safety of Club facilities and grounds. The Maintenance & Custodian plays a vital role in supporting high-quality youth programming by ensuring Club spaces are well-maintained and ready for daily operations. . Essential Duties & Responsibilities Facility Cleaning & Sanitation Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout Club facilities. Clean and sanitize restrooms, kitchens, and common areas. Empty trash and recycling receptacles and dispose of waste appropriately. Vacuum carpets, sweep, mop, and maintain hard-surface flooring. Clean windows, doors, walls, and other facility surfaces. Dust furniture, equipment, and fixtures throughout the building. Ensure cleaning supplies and sanitation products are stocked and organized. Floor Care & Maintenance Perform routine floor care, including stripping, waxing, buffing, and polishing tile floors. Operate auto scrubbers and other floor maintenance equipment safely and effectively. Identify flooring issues and report maintenance concerns promptly. Building & Equipment Maintenance Conduct routine inspections of facilities and grounds to identify maintenance needs. Complete minor repairs to furniture, fixtures, equipment, and facility components. Assist with preventative maintenance tasks to ensure safe and functional facilities. Report major repair needs, safety hazards, and facility concerns to supervisors. Support room setup and breakdown for Club activities, events, and meetings. Grounds & Exterior Maintenance Maintain outdoor areas, including walkways, entrances, and common spaces. Assist with basic landscaping, debris removal, and seasonal facility needs. Help ensure exterior spaces remain safe, clean, and welcoming. Safety & Compliance Follow all Boys & Girls Clubs of the Rogue Valley safety policies and procedures. Utilize cleaning chemicals, equipment, and maintenance tools in accordance with safety guidelines. Maintain compliance with health, sanitation, and facility standards. Immediately report safety concerns, incidents, or hazards. Support emergency preparedness and facility security efforts. Teamwork & Administrative Responsibilities Work collaboratively with Club leadership and staff to support daily operations. Demonstrate professionalism and a positive attitude while interacting with youth, families, staff, and visitors. Attend required trainings and staff meetings as assigned. Assist with special projects and facility improvement initiatives as needed. Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational goals and facility operations. Required Qualifications Minimum age of 18 years. High school diploma or GED preferred. Ability to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred. Experience in custodial, janitorial, maintenance, or facility operations preferred. Experience with floor maintenance equipment and procedures preferred. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and complete tasks with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment. Physical & Work Environment Requirements Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods. Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. Ability to safely operate custodial and maintenance equipment. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Work Environment Clubhouse, office, recreational, and outdoor facility environments. Frequent exposure to cleaning products, maintenance equipment, and noise associated with youth programs. Regular interaction with staff, volunteers, vendors, and youth members. Ability to work in a busy, active environment serving children and teens ages 5-18.
