Night Custodian I

This job involves maintaining our office buildings to keep facilities and equipment clean and orderly. Responsibilities will be primarily janitorial, and also include responding to possible fire alerts, motion detection alerts, or other alarms to contact management or authorities as needed.

Starting pay:

$23.00/hr

Hours:

40 hours per week, 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts. Usually includes weekend nights plus some weekday nights, 9:00 pm to 7:00 am. Duties may include but are not limited to the following: Perform mostly indoor janitorial duties such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, cleaning carpets, cleaning and sanitizing break and lavatory facilities, and emptying trash. Operate a variety of custodial equipment to perform cleaning and maintenance duties. Receive mobile alerts for possible trespassers, contact police if needed. Drive company grounds periodically to check for possible safety or security issues and contact management or authorities. Assemble and configure cubicles and furniture.

Required:

Must be 18 years of age or older Valid driver's license High School Diploma or GED Ability to perform assigned tasks independently by following oral and written instructions Problem solving Verbal and listening communications Time management Knowledge of or ability to learn standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, products, and equipment Ability to read and understand labels and instructions, particularly on the use and application of cleaning chemicals and products Helpful but not required:

Janitorial Experience Working Conditions:

Work will generally be performed in an office environment Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stand/walk for long periods of time Engage in repetitive work motions such as gripping, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and mopping Frequent use of hands and arms and may require reaching above shoulders and head and cleaning surfaces at a variety of heights and angles Frequently required to lift equipment and/or materials up to 35 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs Benefits include very good medical and dental insurance, 401k with match, life insurance, paid holidays, and paid time off (vacation or sick time).
