Job Description

UPMC Horizon- Shenango Valley, located in Farrell, PA is hiring an OR Service Technician to join the Operating Room Team! This full-time role will work Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at UPMC Horizon - Shenango Valley as well as UPMC Jameson. No on-call, weekends or holidays would be required. The OR Service Technician will be responsible for turning over operating rooms after surgery, stocking supplies and warmers, and lab and x-ray runs for rooms as needed. Candidates with a background in environmental services are encouraged to apply!
Responsibilities:
Provide environmental services for the unit including but not limited to cleaning rooms and staff areas, disposing of linens, trash and hazardous waste and stocking unit-specific equipment and supplies. Clean appropriate equipment including but not limited to specialty instruments as needed. Assist with patient support activities including patient transfers and room turnover. Complete and document daily routine responsibilities on the unit including but not limited to equipment maintenance checks, i.e., refrigerators. Work cooperatively with peers and establishes professional and respectful interpersonal relationships. Comply with safety policies and procedures including standard precautions, body mechanics, etc. Perform assigned work in a timely and productive manner. Assure equipment malfunctions are reported to the appropriate department. Mix, use, and dispose of chemicals according to directions. Strictly adhere to all policies and practices relative to patient care, HIPPA and hospital related information. Maintain schedule for cleaning equipment on unit. High school diploma or GED required. 1-year previous job experience required in lieu of High school diploma/GED. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in order to successfully complete housekeeping duties. Ability to use housekeeping equipment. Prior job experience preferred. Access to medications is limited to the distribution of the medication to the nurse.
