SVC ATTENDANT CUSTODIAN
- 4220 JOB SUMMARY Responsible for keeping assigned areas clean, sanitary by scouring, scrubbing, mopping, polishing, using germicidal disinfectants and damp dusting.
JOB DUTIES
Completes assignments and duties and is responsible for cleanliness and aseptic conditions of assigned areas. Operates floor machines to perform the following floor projects: clean and buff floors, strip and wax floors and carpet maintenance- vacuuming
- shampooing.

Strength:
Heavy Work- Lifting, Carrying, Pushing, Pulling 50

Climbing:
Occasionally- Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like, using feet, and legs or hands and arms.
Stooping:
Frequently- Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist, requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.
Kneeling:
Frequently- Bending legs at knees to come to rest on knee or knees.
Crouching:
Frequently- Bending body downward and forward by bending legs and spine.
Reaching:
Frequently- Extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.
Handling:
Frequently- Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hand or hands.
Talking:
Occasionally- Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to clients or to the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
Hearing:
Occasionally- Perceiving the nature of sounds by ear.
Near Acuity:
Occasionally- Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Tenth grade education or equivalent. High school diploma/GED preferred. Previous healthcare and / or institutional Environmental Service experience preferred. Prior experience with specialized floor cleaning equipment preferred. Must be able to read and write and follow written and oral directions. Must be able to communicate clearly with other members of the healthcare team, customers, and guests. Requires judgment and alertness. The ability to organize time, prioritize, and concentrate. Must have experience using computers and computer software programs.WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal patient care/hospital environment. A large part of work time is standing or walking. Subject to certain distasteful patient care activities and exposure to communicable diseases. May be exposed to potential hazards such as chemicals, body wastes, fluids and other possible infectious material.DISCLOSURE MMC
