Janitorial Lead Job Description The Janitorial Lead is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness within buildings, ensuring a safe and clean environment for all. This role involves delegating tasks, directing employees, and stepping in to assist when necessary. The lead will perform heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. Responsibilities Delegate tasks and direct employees to ensure efficient completion of duties. Perform heavy cleaning duties including cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. Collect and dispose of trash according to approved procedures and infection control plans. Dust and damp mop floors following approved procedures. Move equipment and furniture for proper cleaning and place furniture back in correct placement. Clean assigned areas using designated materials and equipment; sanitize all surfaces. Follow the eight-step cleaning procedure and complete all tasks assigned by the supervisor. Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other items to maintain a clean, safe environment. Seek out areas requiring cleaning and take initiative to complete tasks. Perform tasks in accordance with federal, state, and county guidelines. Strip, scrub, buff, and refinish floors; shampoo carpets. Contribute to the team and exhibit professionalism with customers, fellow employees, and others. Essential Skills Management, leadership, and supervisory experience. Ability to delegate tasks and direct employees effectively. Basic janitorial and cleaning skills with at least 6 months of experience. Familiarity with safety procedures and general labor. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in industrial cleaning and housekeeping. Knowledge of custodial and mopping techniques. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a newer, clean facility with a team of 32 employees. Steel or composite toe shoes are required for safety. The schedule includes shifts from Monday to Thursday, either from 6am/7am to 4:30am/5:30am. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Middletown, PA.
