Custodian

JOB SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Facilities Director, the Custodian performs a variety of routine domestic cleaning and custodial duties for New Horizon Family Health Services, Inc. Responsible for the overall environmental cleanliness and safety of the Center.

DUTIES PERFORMED

: Maintains cleanliness of restrooms and assures the availability of soap, hand towels, toilet and facial tissue, etc. On a daily basis, disinfects medical treatment rooms in strict accordance with established guidelines, policies and procedures. Responds immediately to request for clean-up/environmental assistance. Assists in maintaining adequate stock control of departmental supplies. Completes heavy mopping, stripping, and waxing of halls and bathroom facilities as needed. Completes detailed cleaning of medical treatment rooms and work areas as needed. Empties waste receptacles and changes receptacle bags on a daily basis. Follows OSHA guidelines for cleaning patient care areas, laboratory and other areas of the facility. Follows OSHA guidelines for handling infectious waste and hazardous material. Must be familiar with infectious waste disposal procedures. Must be capable of understanding and carrying out routine instructions. Must be able to read and understand safety/chemical labels and safety data sheets.

QUALIFICATIONS

: Education High School graduate or GED preferred Experience Minimum of six (6) months experience as a Housekeeper/Custodian.
