School Custodian (Temp / Sub position)

At Butler Academy, or BA for short, we're committed to excellence in all that we do; including the maintenance of our campus and school facility. We are seeking a custodian who is equally committed to supporting our staff and students by keeping our classrooms, hallways and bathrooms looking spectacular. This posting is for a short-term, as-needed substitute position. We would love to add you to our substitute list for whenever our current custodians are absent, and will also consider you for future long-term employment opportunities. The ideal candidate for this position will: Have three or more years successful custodial experience Have the physical strength sufficient to do normal building cleaning work including: Lifting up to 50 lb occasionally Lifting up to 30 lb regularly Ability to kneel, bend, stoop, twist, turn and reach in all directions Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time Knowledge of safe commercial/educational cleaning practices Have a proven track-record of professionalism Believe strongly in the mission and values of Butler Academy Pass a background check and drug screen Have prior experience in schools (preferred) Follow appropriate dress code as outlined by supervisor

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Clean assigned areas: Interior

• Hallways, restrooms, offices, classrooms, bathrooms, windows, walls, and any other area assigned by supervisor Exterior
• Perimeter of school building, parking lot, playground, windows, and any other area assigned by supervisor Mop, sweep, dust, and vacuum all assigned areas Empty trash from any and all trash receptacles Clean and sterilize restroom facilities Remove waste in dining hall for breakfast and lunch Assist with cleaning dining hall tables Clean Dining Hall floors to an acceptable standard Manage recycling throughout the building Assist Operations Team with cleaning projects or tasks Perform other duties as delegated by Supervisor Follow federal and state laws, as well as company policies Job Details Expected hours•5:00am-1:30pm or 10:30am-7:00pm Pay ranges from $11•$16 / hour, based on experience Includes full-time benefits including medical, dental, and retirement savings option with company match
