Day Custodian

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to perform various custodial tasks effectively. Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming in designated areas. Maintain floors through buffing and waxing to ensure they are clean and presentable. Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs and report any issues promptly. Assist with facilities maintenance tasks as needed, including minor repairs and upkeep of equipment. Ensure that all cleaning supplies are stocked and properly stored. Provide commercial cleaning services in offices, restrooms, and common areas. Support residential painting projects as required by the facility. Follow safety protocols and guidelines while performing cleaning duties. Qualifications Previous experience in custodial or commercial cleaning roles is preferred but not required. Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing and waxing is a plus. Familiarity with facilities maintenance practices is advantageous. Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Good communication skills to interact effectively with staff and visitors. Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks, including lifting and moving equipment or supplies.
