Adjunct/Part-Time Job Description The Custodian is a part-time position performing general cleaning and maintenance duties for the Austin Peay Fort Campbell Center and designated areas at Outlaw Field. The position requires 20 hours of work per week, ensuring the facilities' cleanliness, safety, and upkeep to support a welcoming and functional environment. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Complete daily office and classroom cleaning requirements to include: empty trash, vacuum, sweep, clear white boards, clean classroom tables/chairs, etc. Strip and wax floors when needed/rotational schedule; Report work order needs to Supervisor; Inventory/maintain/ request cleaning supplies to support mission; Clean, stock, and maintain restrooms to standard; Support relocation of items when needed; Drive institutional vehicle to support mission; Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately. Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information. Ability to interact in an effective and appropriate manner with diverse populations, the University community and the public. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to maintain assigned buildings with limited supervision in accordance with established standards for cleanliness. Ability to recognize occupational hazards and take appropriate safety precautions. Ability to use floor machines such as buffers and vacuums. Ability to effectively document work-related tasks. Ability to properly use chemicals and cleaning supplies. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position. Ability to work overtime or any shift as required. Ability to work with little to no supervision.
Minimum Qualifications:
Medium Work:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent. Valid driver's license. A minimum of one (1) year of general cleaning experience.
