Job Description

GENERAL DEFINITIONS OF WORK
Performs semi-skilled custodial and janitorial duties for Water & Sewer Department facilities. Responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and sanitary work environments in offices, restrooms, breakrooms, conference rooms, and other common areas. Work is performed under the general supervision of the assigned supervisor. Please note that his position is a part time position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITES
Include the following, but other duties may be assigned: Cleaning offices, conference rooms, breakrooms, restrooms, and common areas. Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing department facilities. Emptying trash and recycling containers. Restocking restroom and breakroom supplies. Cleaning windows, appliances, blinds, walls, woodwork, doors, counters, and other surfaces as needed. Maintaining cleaning equipment and supplies in good working condition. Collecting and disposing of litter from grounds, parking lots, and other exterior areas. Raking leaves, trimming shrubs, pressure washing walkways, and clearing snow and ice from walkways during winter weather events. Reports maintenance issues, unsafe conditions, and supply needs to the appropriate supervisor. Assists with facility setup and cleanup for meetings and special events as assigned. Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this role. Performs other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of the eighth grade.
EXPERIENCE
Previous custodial, housekeeping, or janitorial experience is preferred but not required.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
Must have a valid Tennessee Driver's License.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS, WORK ENVIRONMENT, AND REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONS
This position requires medium physical work, including exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Work requires frequent standing, walking, climbing, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, and grasping. Vocal communication is required to exchange information. Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken levels. Visual acuity is required for observing surroundings, inspecting work, operating equipment, and maintaining safety. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee works in both indoor and outdoor environments and may be exposed to extreme temperatures, wet or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, cleaning chemicals, and other conditions commonly associated with custodial and grounds maintenance activities. It shall be the responsibility of the City of Lebanon Utilities Directors to assess the type(s) of reasonable accommodations which may be necessary to allow the individual to perform the essential functions of this role and to provide such necessary reasonable accommodations to a qualified individual with a disability, provided that nothing herein shall be construed to require the provision of reasonable accommodations if doing so will impose an undue hardship on the employing agency or a direct threat to the safety of himself/herself or others.
