Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Janitor/Cleaner to join our facilities maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our commercial or industrial facilities. Your proactive approach to cleaning and upkeep will ensure that our spaces meet the highest standards of hygiene and safety, supporting a productive workplace for all staff and visitors. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with janitorial experience who take pride in their work and enjoy contributing to a well-maintained environment. Duties Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal to maintain cleanliness across all areas Handle chemical agents safely while cleaning floors, surfaces, restrooms, and common areas, following all safety protocols Operate floor buffers and other custodial equipment to ensure floors are polished and properly cared for Conduct industrial cleaning tasks such as deep cleaning of machinery or heavy-duty sanitation as needed Assist with facilities maintenance activities including minor repairs, light painting, and upkeep of fixtures Follow safe lifting practices when handling heavy cleaning supplies or equipment to prevent injury Maintain detailed logs of cleaning activities and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly Experience Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial, industrial, or residential settings Familiarity with cleaning techniques using chemical agents and custodial equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers Experience handling heavy lifting tasks safely in accordance with established procedures Knowledge of facilities maintenance tasks including basic repairs or painting is a plus Prior porter or facilities support experience highly desirable Ability to work independently with attention to detail while maintaining high standards of cleanliness Strong understanding of safety protocols related to chemical handling and manual handling practices Join us in creating a clean, safe, and inviting environment where everyone feels comfortable!
