Day Porter First Presbyterian Church of Nashville - 3.0 Nashville, TN Job Details Full-time $18 - $20 an hour 17 hours ago Benefits Disability insurance Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance 403(b) Life insurance Qualifications High school diploma or GED Custodial experience Full Job Description Under the direction of the Facility Maintenance Manager, the Day Porter performs day-to-day building cleaning and janitorial duties that include removing debris, maintaining common room areas, restocking bathrooms and responding to all cleaning emergencies. The successful candidate will be highly organized, dedicated, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously. The Day Porter works with management to create an effective cleaning schedule, which will include your day-to-day routines and work timetable. The Day Porter also assists and supports other Facilities staff with completion of their assigned tasks including Sunday Church services, and event rotation. This on-site full-time role will work Monday through Friday plus a rotating weekend (Sundays) schedule and occasional evening hours and Saturday work as scheduled. The compensation range is $18.00 to $20.00 per hour based on experience and paid on a bi-weekly basis. Duties/Responsibilities Clean all common room areas including meeting spaces, cafeteria, board rooms, offices, hallways, restrooms and any assigned buildings. When applicable, place safety hazard signs in the building including wet paint and wet floor warning signs. Respond to any major spills or other cleaning crises. Ensure meeting spaces and other designated rooms are properly arranged as scheduled/requested. Assist in all event setups and breakdowns. Maintain a Facilities staff presence during Church events and meetings. Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for teachers, students, members, employees, and visitors with regular monitoring of buildings and grounds for appearance and cleanliness. Liaise with custodial vendor to ensure high quality services are delivered as contracted. Manage custodial supplies and inventories ensuring that required items are timely ordered, delivered, stocked and available for use. Respond to assigned repair/maintenance work orders during the workday, giving priority to any emergency calls. Submit daily reports of assignments that cannot be completed during the workday. Complete regularly scheduled preventative maintenance assignments. Perform general clean-up of the overall grounds as necessary. Operate mechanical equipment such as floor cleaners/waxers. Attend all work-related training and assigned meetings. Rotate on call, as scheduled. Special projects as assigned by the Church Executive and Facility Maintenance Manager. Other related duties as assigned. Knowledge/Skills An active, growing relationship with Jesus Christ, functional knowledge of scripture, familiarity with the Reformed tradition, and an ability to integrate the Christian faith into day-to-day work in a way that brings about a comfortable advancement of the Gospel in relationship with colleagues and others, required. Able to work a flexible schedule including nights and in a rotation for Sundays.
