General Summary:
This Position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor. Primary responsibility is to perform a variety of manual custodial tasks involved in the housekeeping of the building.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following:
- Sweep and mop floors; vacuum
- Dust and clean offices; other work areas
- Collect and remove trash; replace with new liners (inside and outside of the building)
- Wash windows and walls
- Clean air vents and light fixtures
- Clean restrooms; employees and public
- Inventory custodial supplies
- Must assist in helping to keep inventory and restrooms clean in the shop.
- Move or lift furniture, boxes, and other materials
- Work harmoniously with clients, co-workers, community organizations, trade/professional organizations, and the general public.
- Must be able to work alone or as a part of a team.
- Must be able to work extra hours when needed.
- Must demonstrate good time management skills.
- Solve practical CityLink custodial problems.
- Must attend monthly meetings.
- Must help in cleaning the inventory room/ maintenance restroom.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as written instructions, safety rules, routes, time schedules, detours, regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and training or procedural manuals.
- Must have the ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Must have general knowledge of materials, methods, and practices used in custodial operations.
- Occupational hazards and safety precautions of custodial operations, proper use and care of a variety of tools, materials, and equipment common to custodial operations.
- Operates a variety of custodial equipment including vacuum cleaner and carpet cleaner.

- Must have the ability to repetitively bend and twist.
- Must have the ability to continuously sit for one hour. Must have the ability to twist the neck 90 degrees on both sides.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 20 pounds.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions including wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold, or extreme heat. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes airborne particles, and vibrations.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud.
