Job Description

Is a split shift attractive to you to leave your midday open for personal activities? Or is the flexibility for very early or late day work helpful to you? Do you have access to reliable transportation within the City of Amarillo to assure your timely arrival for assigned work hours or occasioal off-hours assignments? The lead custodian performs all custodial and some maintenance activities within a school building. Must be knowledgeable in the areas of cleaning, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, electrical maintenance, carpentry, and general indoor & outdoor maintenance. Position Reports To:
Regional Facility Manager Overview:
o Conducts the cleaning, sanitizing, disinfecting and maintenance of the school building. o Participates in necessary painting and general repairs to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, windows, and general mechanical areas. o Overseeing all contractors who perform repairs, remodeling and renovation o Will be available to respond on a 24-hour call basis when building alarms or emergency situations occur in the school building. o Maintains the school grounds and delivers snow/ice removal at their school building. o Orders and receives supplies and equipment, and maintains necessary inventories. o Assumes responsibility for the general security and fire safety of the school building. o Performs emergency repair services as necessary. o Conducts an ongoing program of general maintenance, upkeep, and repair. o Responsible for overall maintenance of all cleaning, landscaping and snow removal equipment. o Serves as liaison for architect, general contractors and school district administration regarding services to the grounds and building. o Responsible for the setting up and tearing down of equipment during special events; i.e., graduation, conferences, concerts, etc. o Performs other assigned tasks as directed by the regional facilities director or school principal.
