We are seeking a motivated, qualified individual to join our company as a Barge Cleaner who will be responsible for safely and effectively cleaning barges and tanks that are used to transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials. All work will be performed in accordance with applicable guidelines and Company safety procedures. Work performed will be on a rotating schedule, beginning with six (6) days on the 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM shift, followed by three (3) days off, and then six (6) nights on the 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM shift. Duties & Responsibilities Safely and effectively prepare, clean, and inspect barges, tanks, and equipment in accordance with established methods and applicable regulations Manually clean, install, fit, and repair valves, caps, hoses, pumps, gaskets and other and equipment Operate all necessary cleaning equipment such as high-pressure pumps, air electrical and/or mechanical equipment including hot and/or cold air blow drying systems, in accordance with operation training and guidelines and safety procedures Maintain equipment in optimal working order and perform regular maintenance to maximize production Sweep, shovel, or vacuum waste into drums for proper disposal May operate appropriate equipment to move containers or equipment around the facility as requested Maintain a clean and safe working environment Observe all safety and security procedures, report unsafe conditions, and properly use equipment Maintain open communication with team members and leadership Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required Performs other job-related duties as assigned Requirements High School Diploma or general education degree (GED), desired but not required Must be 18 years of age or older Industrial, tank cleaning, outdoor, or similar work experience Valid TWIC Card or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment Must be able to meet criteria for safety sensitive functions according to Company standards Knowledge, Skill, & Abilities Ability to work in an enclosed / confined space Demonstrate the ability to safely operate equipment Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership Ability to read, write, and comprehend associated documents, Standard Operating Procedures, and SDS sheets Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions Ability to follow all company safety policies and procedures Ability to meet deadlines or ensure that daily work is completed The forementioned statements describe the general purpose and responsibilities assigned to this job and are not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and duties that may be assigned or tasks that may be required.
