Job Description

Pritchard Industries is a dynamic and innovative provider of comprehensive facility services, dedicated to enhancing the operational efficiency of our client partners in the industries we serve. With services from facility maintenance and janitorial to landscaping and snow removal, we enable desired outcomes for our clients through consistent service and outstanding people. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced 2nd Shift Custodial Supervisor to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
1.
Supervision and Leadership:
Lead, motivate, and support a team of janitorial staff on the second shift. Manage scheduling, task assignments, and team performance to ensure efficient operations. Provide training on janitorial processes, cleanliness standards, and safety procedures. Foster a positive team environment, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. Cover absences as needed, ensuring no disruption in operations. 2. Expert in
Cleanrooms and Labs:
Maintain and monitor cleanroom environments in R D, ensuring compliance with industry standards and Alcon protocols. Follow cleanroom procedures, including gowning protocols, surface disinfection, and contamination control. Clean and sanitize sterile suites within Alcon Labs , strictly adhering to detailed specifications provided by Alcon staff. Ensure all training is certified by Alcon, guaranteeing the highest standards of operation. Operate within GLP/GMP-regulated suites, ensuring strict compliance with FDA performance and training standards. Accurately complete all necessary documentation, including logbooks and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Complete all required training and certifications as mandated by the client. Comply with safety regulations and policies while maintaining clean and organized work areas. Accommodate a flexible work schedule, including after-hours and weekends as needed. Perform additional duties as assigned to support the sanitation and compliance objectives of the cleanroom environment. 3.
Cleaning and Janitorial:
Oversee the cleaning and sanitation of the facilities, focusing on clean rooms areas, laboratories, offices, restrooms, break rooms, and other key spaces. Ensure all cleaning tasks adhere to Alcon's strict cleanliness and hygiene standards. Monitor and maintain cleaning equipment and chemicals to ensure safe and effective use. 4. Quality Control" Conduct regular inspections of work areas and cleaning performance, ensuring adherence to cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards. Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to enhance cleaning quality. Track performance through inspections, audits, and staff feedback to ensure continuous improvement. 5.
Safety Compliance:
Enforce safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of cleaning chemicals. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and mitigate safety risks in all work environments. Promote and uphold a culture of safety within the janitorial team, especially during the night shift. Adhere to all safety protocols, SOPs, and procedures. 6.
Inventory and Supplies:
Manage janitorial inventory, ensuring that cleaning supplies and equipment are readily available. Maintain an inventory system and reorder supplies through your supervisor as needed. Track and manage supplies and equipment. Responsible for cleaning rags collection and weekly distribution. 7.
Documentation and Reporting:
Ensure that all Pritchard-specific paperwork is completed and submitted on time. Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules, inspections, and safety protocols. Complete reports for management, addressing any incidents or challenges during the shift. Adhere to all safety data sheet (SDS) requirements and Alcon internal systems for work orders and training documentation. 8.
Team Communication:
Ensure clear communication within the janitorial team and across shifts. Collaborate with other departments to coordinate cleaning schedules and respond to urgent facility needs (Work Orders). Address concerns or grievances of janitorial staff promptly, maintaining a supportive work environment. Hold weekly staff meetings with the second shift to discuss goals, concerns, and upcoming tasks. 9.
Support Employees:
Provide continuous support to janitorial staff, ensuring they have the necessary resources and training to perform their duties effectively. Be available to assist with any on-the-job challenges or questions from the team. 10.
Floor Equipment Care:
Ensure proper use and care of floor equipment, training staff on the correct operation and maintenance to ensure equipment longevity and performance. 11.
Organization of Janitorial Areas:
Oversee the organization and cleanliness of janitorial storage and work areas, ensuring proper storage of supplies and equipment.
Required Qualifications:
Previous experience in a janitorial supervisory role, preferably in a regulated facility (GxP environment). Knowledge and experience in cleanroom maintenance and laboratory standards. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to train and motivate staff. Ability to work effectively with internal and external teams, including regulatory personnel, R D, and QA departments. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Basic understanding of safety regulations and PPE protocols. Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in Cleanroom or Laboratory Maintenance. Experience with safety and sanitation audits in a pharmaceutical or research setting. Familiarity with work order systems, or similar software used for inventory and documentation.
