Janitor/Cleaner

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Janitor to join our team at AFC Steel, LLC. The Janitor will be responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary environment across our office spaces, including office bathrooms and shop bathrooms. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

Office Cleaning:

• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in office areas.
• Dust and wipe down surfaces, including desks, chairs, and office equipment.
• Empty trash cans and replace liners.
• Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces.
• Maintain cleanliness of break rooms and kitchen areas, including wiping down countertops and appliances.

Bathroom Cleaning:

• Clean and sanitize office and shop bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, and urinals.
• Replenish supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, and soap.
• Wipe down mirrors and fixtures.
• Sweep and mop bathroom floors.
• Ensure bathrooms are always stocked and presentable.

Facility:

• Empty and dispose of shop waste properly.

General Duties:

• Report any maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor.
• Follow safety and sanitation protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
• Respond promptly to urgent cleaning requests or spills.
• Maintain cleaning supplies and notify management when reordering is necessary.

Qualifications:

• Previous janitorial or cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and high standards for cleanliness.
• Good communication skills
• Positive attitude.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and move cleaning equipment and supplies (up to 50 pounds).

Job Details:

• Part time up to 20 hours per week
• Flexible but set schedule o One day a week o Two or three days a week o Between 6 am
• 4 pm o Monday through Thursday only
