Job Description

COWBOY FELLOWSHIP - ATASCOSA COUNTY 561 FM 3350
Jourdanton, TX 78026
Office:
830-769-3733 CUSTODIAN
JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Profile:
Custodian Position Status:
Full-time Support Staff; Hourly Supervisor(s):
Facilities Manager The Role:
The Custodian serves as a vital steward of our campus, ensuring that our facilities are not just clean, but are a welcoming and safe environment where lives can be changed. This role is about more than just maintenance; it's about preparing the "stage" for ministry, ensuring our grounds and buildings reflect the excellence and care we strive for in our community. The ideal person for this role is a servant-hearted individual who takes pride in the details, acts with integrity, and understands that their work directly supports the spiritual growth of our congregation.
What You Will Do:
Campus Stewardship:
You will maintain the cleanliness and order of our buildings and grounds, treating the campus as a resource provided for the community. This includes the hands-on care of our shared spaces—from restrooms and classrooms to parking lots and recreation areas.
Event Preparation:
You will play a key role in making sure the church is ready for special events, setting up environments that allow our ministry teams to focus on their guests and congregants.
Proactive Maintenance:
You will be the first line of defense in keeping our facilities functional and safe. This involves everything from routine equipment care and light repairs to identifying and reporting needs to the Facilities Manager before they become problems.
Safety Leadership:
You will champion a culture of safety by following established procedures, managing equipment with care, and ensuring that our campus is a secure environment for every family that walks through our doors. What The Ideal Candidate Brings The following describes the heart and skill set of the Custodian we are looking for:
Servant-Leader:
You possess a "can-do" attitude and a deep sense of ownership. You see a need and you fill it, taking pride in the quiet work that makes everyone else's ministry more effective.
Detail-Oriented:
You understand that excellence is found in the details—a clean hallway, a well-kept lawn, or a neatly organized supply closet creates a sense of peace for those entering our campus.
Safety-Conscious & Reliable:
You are disciplined in your work, adhering to safety protocols because you value the people who use these facilities. You are physically capable of the demands of the role and operate equipment with skill and caution.
Adaptable:
Our campus is active. You thrive in a role that varies from day to day—one moment you may be operating a mower, the next you are setting up for an event or handling a maintenance repair. You are comfortable moving between tasks and environments with ease.
The Essentials:
Ability to perform physical labor, including heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs), walking, standing, and working in various weather conditions. Basic knowledge of cleaning and groundskeeping equipment (vacuums, pressure washers, mowers, power tools). Ability to read and follow technical instructions for equipment and safety procedures.
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$12.00 - $14.00 per hour
Benefits:
Paid time off
