Facilities Reports to: Facilities Supervisor About the Role The Facilities Associate is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of the church and school facilities, by performing a variety of maintenance and janitorial tasks. The role will require ongoing physical work including but not limited to: working on a concrete floor all day, continuous standing, walking, pushing, pulling, frequent reaching, bending, stooping, talking, hearing (audio equipment), handling objects with hands, lifting up to 50 lbs., and other miscellaneous physical activities associated with a maintenance or janitorial role. The expected work schedule requirements for this part-time role are: 25hr/week- Sunday (7am-3pm), Monday (7am-2pm), Tuesday(7am-2pm) and Wednesday (1pm-8pm), 1 hour lunch Please note a full-time position at First Baptist Katy is defined as 32+ hours per week. The work schedule and number of hours per week for this role may change as needed at the discretion of management, to include more or less than 40 hours in a work week. Flexibility is expected for reduced or extended hours, holidays, nights, or weekends. Responsibilities The Facilities Associate is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of the church and school facilities. Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Open and/or lock up the building.
• Set up and tear down tables/chairs.
• Provide support to church/school staff.
• Conduct building safety inspections and make necessary corrections.
• Ensure building security by locking doors and being alert for suspicious activity to report.
• Perform janitorial cleaning tasks.
• Assist with maintenance tasks.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment.
• Complete scheduled maintenance projects as assigned.
• Conduct scheduled and unscheduled repairs to facility equipment.
• Perform basic repairs in electrical, plumbing, painting, remodeling, HVAC, and ensure the building and grounds are in safe operational condition. Qualifications & Requirements
• Proficiency with basic manual hand tools and powered hand tools such as drills, grinders, and saws.
• Knowledge of basic facility repairs including painting, minor plumbing, and lighting.
• Flexibility to work any shift and/or weekends as scheduled, and willingness to work overtime as necessary.
• Capability to troubleshoot basic mechanical system failures.
• Must pass various background checks and pre-screening requirements.
• Ability to conduct all assigned tasks as scheduled by the supervisor with expected quality and timeliness.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to complete and perform work orders.
• Commitment to working safely and maintaining a safe work environment for oneself and others at all times.
• Commitment to maintaining a professional and respectful image and reputation as a member of church staff, to include appearance, hygiene, and behavior.
• Must not have any legal restrictions or personal reservations about working around children.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
