The Custodian will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment across our premises, supporting operational efficiency and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. This role is vital in fostering a welcoming atmosphere for staff, visitors, and clients alike. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, technical proficiency in cleaning equipment and materials handling, and a proactive approach to maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Duties Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting all designated areas to uphold cleanliness standards. Manage waste disposal processes efficiently, ensuring proper segregation and timely removal. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and materials; reorder stock as needed to prevent shortages. Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and pressure washers safely and effectively. Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards; report issues promptly. Assist with setup and breakdown of event spaces or meeting rooms as required. Support minor maintenance tasks including replacing light bulbs, fixtures, or filters to ensure operational safety. Follow established safety procedures and use personal protective equipment appropriately during all tasks. Requirements Proven experience in custodial services or facilities maintenance preferred. Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, materials handling procedures, and safety protocols. Ability to operate various cleaning machinery and tools safely. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in daily tasks. Basic understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to custodial work. Physical stamina to perform manual tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Technical proficiency with inventory management systems or CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) is advantageous.
