Position Overview:

The City of Escobares is seeking a reliable and self-motivated Part-Time Custodian to help maintain the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of city buildings and grounds. This role is essential in ensuring that public facilities remain welcoming and functional for employees, and visitors.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform routine custodial duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing restrooms and common areas. Empty trash receptacles and ensure proper disposal of waste. Maintain outdoor areas such as walkways, entryways, and grounds as needed. Assist with minor maintenance tasks, including basic repairs, replacing light bulbs, and reporting facility issues. Set up and break down rooms or equipment for meetings, events, or city functions. Monitor cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when restocking is needed. Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work environment. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

No minimum education requirements. Ability to pass a background check as required by the City of Escobares. Some experience in custodial work, maintenance, or groundskeeping. Ability to lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 lbs. Ability to work independently and follow instructions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining clean, safe facilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience working in municipal, school, or commercial facilities preferred. Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety procedures.
