The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to sanitation standards, environmental safety, and customer service excellence. This role involves performing a variety of cleaning and sanitation tasks to ensure the highest standards of hygiene are upheld across patient areas, public spaces, and staff facilities. The Environmental Services Housekeeper plays a vital role in supporting infection control protocols and promoting a healthy environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Duties Perform thorough cleaning of patient rooms, corridors, restrooms, and common areas using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment. Follow established sanitation procedures in accordance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines to minimize health risks. Maintain cleanliness of floors through proper floor care techniques such as sweeping, mopping, stripping, waxing, and buffing to ensure safety and aesthetic appeal. Dispose of waste materials safely and in compliance with environmental services protocols. Restock supplies such as paper products, hand sanitizers, and cleaning materials to ensure availability for staff and visitors. Adhere to all safety regulations related to chemical handling, equipment operation, and infection control practices. Collaborate with healthcare personnel to address specific sanitation needs related to hospital environments or patient care areas. Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities and report any maintenance or safety issues promptly. Experience Prior janitorial or custodial experience in healthcare settings or similar environments is highly desirable. Knowledge of OSHA standards related to workplace safety and chemical handling is essential. Experience with environmental services practices including sanitation procedures specific to hospitals or clinics is preferred. Familiarity with commercial cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, extractors, and disinfectant sprayers enhances effectiveness in the role. Demonstrated ability to follow detailed cleaning protocols while maintaining efficiency in a fast-paced environment. Strong understanding of infection control measures relevant to healthcare facilities. Previous experience with hospital or clinical cleaning tasks provides valuable insight into specialized sanitation requirements.
