Custodian

Summary We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team at Orange Elementary as a Custodian. This full-time position is essential to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will take pride in their work, demonstrate attention to detail, and possess a strong commitment to providing excellent service. Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas. Ensure all facilities are well-maintained and in good condition, reporting any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel. Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in accordance with established procedures. Clean and sanitize restrooms, ensuring supplies are stocked and facilities are hygienic. Assist in setting up and taking down furniture and equipment for school events and activities. Monitor and maintain cleaning supplies and equipment, notifying management when supplies are low. Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all. Support the school community by responding to custodial requests in a timely and professional manner. Participate in training and professional development opportunities as required. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous custodial or janitorial experience is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and safety. Good communication skills and the ability to interact positively with students, staff, and visitors. Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed for special events or emergencies. Must pass a background check and comply with all school district policies and procedures.
