Custodian - PT

Summary We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a part-time custodian at Orange Elementary. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This position requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting in classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas. Empty trash receptacles and ensure proper disposal of waste materials. Clean and sanitize restrooms, ensuring they are well-stocked with necessary supplies. Assist with setting up and taking down furniture and equipment for school events and activities. Monitor and report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel. Follow safety protocols and use cleaning supplies and equipment in a safe and effective manner. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request additional materials as needed. Support a positive school environment by interacting courteously with students, staff, and visitors. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous custodial or cleaning experience is a plus, but not required. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean environment. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods. Basic knowledge of cleaning products and equipment is preferred. Must pass a background check and comply with school district policies. Flexible schedule with availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
