Job Description

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Associate degree in Supply Chain & Logistics or Business Management preferred, work related experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Two or more years work related experience in Procurement preferred. Must have working experience with vendor management and procurement software. Must be able to gather and analyze data and work with figures. Must pay strong attention to detail, with demonstrated analytical skills and accuracy. Must have a familiarity with sourcing and vendor management. Must possess ability to negotiate in the best interest of the Company aggressively but professionally. Must provide assurance of timely delivery, quantity, and cost of parts to effectively support all aspects of production. Must be able to evaluate opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining high quality standards and inventory requirements and locate more profitable suppliers. Possess initiative and the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment driven by deadlines, in a quality manner while handling a number of other key responsibilities. Must be able to interpret bills of material and drawings to determine component parts needed. Must be able to effectively communicate / coordinate with Production and Quality Departments. Must be able to receive clearance from Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE). Must possess valid state driver's license. Must be able to develop excellent vendor relationships by communicating in a persuasive and professional manner. Possess strong understanding of and the ability to work in Microsoft Office software programs with proficiency in the use of Excel. Be able to read, speak, and understand English. Be able to work all overtime as required. Periodic weekend or evening work is expected.
JOB DUTIES
Manage all activities related to planning, purchase and timely receipt of materials, used in the company's production and administrative support functions. Maintain strong working relationships and communication directly with the supply base to monitor open purchase orders for all orders to ensure timely delivery. Responsible for planning and procurement of materials for manufacturing runs. Will work with Production Manager to determine delivery of parts to meet production schedule. Responsible for the monitoring and maintenance of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and data for each Government contract (lead times, safety stocks, min/max quantities) as needed to ensure the systems is effectively planning future requirements. Monitor Manufacturing Orders (MO) for open and closed production needs. Run weekly reports utilizing the MRP system. Assist with sourcing equipment when needed. Assist with return authorizations for equipment repairs / service. Research suppliers to ensure they can meet company quality objectives. Prepare requests for quotations (RFQs). Assist in evaluating quotations received and preparing requisition forms securing appropriate approvals. Assist in sourcing materials from suppliers meeting cost, quality, and delivery targets. Prepare and administer Purchase Orders and enter information in computer purchasing program. Expedite Purchase Orders placed with suppliers. Assist in following up with suppliers to ensure receipt of backordered items, and to address issues of shortages, damaged items and discrepancies, maintaining related documentation. Assist in resolving supplier quality, delivery, and other performance related issues. Assist in performing supplier audits to ensure that suppliers meet the requirements of purchase orders and drawings. Assist in managing material to keep inventories at acceptable levels to meet production and shipping requirements. Assist in tracking office copier meter usage. Assist in supporting cost-reduction efforts through effective purchasing. Assist in preparing and reviewing bids and quotations for procurement activities including working with appropriate members of management to coordinate new product launches. Must be committed to International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the company's Quality Management System using process approach and risk-based thinking methodologies. Shares accountability for the effectiveness of the Quality Management System ensuring the Quality Policy and quality objectives are established and compatible with the context of the company. Ensure department is in compliance with ISO requirements. Participation with internal ISO audits encouraged. Abide by all company policies and procedures and be in compliance with all governmental laws and regulations. Obeys all company work and safety rules. Performs all other duties as required by management.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to move throughout the facility 8-12 hours per day.
