Job Description

Schedule/Hours :
Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30pm This position is responsible for: Maintains a clean working environment for all staff and visitors at the Salvation Army building and grounds; promoting health and safety.
Duties include:
picking up and taking out trash, dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning and stocking bathrooms, making sure buildings are secure, cleaning windows and mirrors, and performing minor building repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms, cleans sinks and toilets, polishes mirrors, and replenishes supplies. Sweeps, vacuums, mops, strips, buffs and waxes floors. Opens/closes building, as scheduled or needed Assists in monitoring light fixtures to ensure all light bulbs are in working order and replaces light bulbs, as necessary. Assists in keeping grounds and roof free of trash, leaves, cuts grass or twigs.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull heavy (over 50lbs.) materials, supplies and equipment frequently. Heavy mobility duties are usually performed by combinations of standing, walking, climbing ladders or steps, bending, reaching or transporting merchandise on frequent change basis relieved by fewer periods of sitting or operating a vehicle. The worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions with activities occurring inside and outside. Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The worker is subject to extreme cold and heat with temperatures typically below 32° or above 100° for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity. The worker is subject to noise; and there is enough noise to cause the worker to shout to be heard above ambient noise level. Work is subject to hazards. Work includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
