Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Janitor/Cleaner to join our property management company. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our commercial or residential facilities. Your energetic approach and commitment to cleanliness will ensure that our spaces are hygienic, well-organized, and inviting for staff, clients, and visitors alike. Duties Clean and maintain building exteriors, entrances, and walkways Sweep, mop, and sanitize interior hallways and common areas Collect and manage trash, recycling, and bulk item removal Remove debris, cobwebs, and graffiti as needed Report maintenance issues and safety hazards to management Perform thorough cleaning of all areas including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment Perform deep-cleaning services on vacant units to speed up unit turns Handle waste disposal by cleaning up loose trash around property exteriors daily Maintain janitorial supplies inventory and notify management when supplies need replenishing Assist with light maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs or minor repairs to ensure facilities remain in optimal condition Ensure all cleaning procedures comply with safety standards and company policies Seasonal tasks: salting walkways, leaf removal, light landscaping Qualifications Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings preferred Knowledge of cleaning techniques including floor care, buffing, and industrial cleaning methods Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and pressure washers safely and effectively Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness standards Extensive knowledge of cleaning supplies and which product is best to complete the task Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, lift heavy objects (50 lbs), and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy periods Basic understanding of facilities maintenance practices is a plus Join us in creating clean, safe environments that foster productivity and well-being!
