OFM Salary Range:
36 - $41,102 (Step A)- $53,122 (Step L)/yr, depending on years of experience• Salary is set by WA Office of Financial Management and is not negotiable. Salary listed is inclusive of King County Pay Premium Step M at $54,432 is attainable for those who have 6 consecutive years working in a WA State institution The Facilities and Capital Projects division operates and maintains building systems, interior spaces, and building exteriors across Shoreline Community College's 26 buildings, including an award-winning automotive training center, a visual arts building, computer centers, laboratories, a student center, a theater, a gymnasium, a child-care center, a multimedia center, and the Ray W. Howard Library/Technology Center. Under the general supervision of the Custodian Supervisor, this position is responsible for performing various housekeeping and custodial-related tasks, including routine, nightly cleaning of assigned areas.
Primary responsibilities include the following:
Routine cleaning/sanitation such as sweeping, mopping, restroom upkeep, and trash removal of assigned areas Provide event setup and support, such as arranging furniture, trash removal, and clean-up Maintain inventories and make simple reports for supplies and equipment Attend training sessions Other duties as assigned of a similar level/nature
Qualifications Education & Experience:
Six (6) months of experience in custodial, general or building maintenance, grounds keeping, or semi-skilled carpentry, electrical and/or plumbing repair work Ability to do required work, as well as read and write
Licensing Requirement:
Valid Washington State driver's license; clean driving record (maximum of one [1] moving violation in the last twelve [12] months), no suspension/revocation of license (for reckless driving, hit and run, leaving an accident scene, failure to appear, DUI, or other vehicle-related felony in the last five [5] years).
NOTE:
If selected as a finalist, you will be required to submit a current driving abstract (no more than one [1] month old) to meet the licensing requirement.
Knowledge Of:
Cleaning methods, procedures, materials, and safe use of all job-related chemicals Proper use of job-related equipment such as custodial/maintenance powered and hand tools Occupational hazards, safety rules and regulations
Skill In:
Receiving shift instructions verbally or in writing, requiring communication in both oral and written English Time management, organization, and ability to meet competing deadlines/priorities Handling difficult/sensitive situations, using sound independent judgment within legal guidelines Ability to work with a diverse group of students, staff, and the public in a friendly, courteous and helpful manner Working both independently and as part of a team to accomplish assigned work within deadlines You can't check off every listed "Knowledge of" and "Skill in?" Conditions of Employment Physical Work Environment:
Requires physical strength, agility, and endurance to walk/stand for prolonged periods of time, bend/reach, lift, pull or push objects weighing up to 75 lbs., climb ladders, and operate machinery. Regular exposure to cleaning agents, chemicals, dust, and other environmental conditions.
Terms Of Employment/Salary:
This position is allocated to pay range 36 under the Washington State Office of Financial Management higher education salary schedule. Salary placement for new employees is determined by the College. This position works 40 hours per week, with schedule dependent upon department needs. Hiring of this position is contingent on available funding as determined by the College President.
