Position:
Talkin' Trash is a temporary employment readiness program designed for individuals who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness. Applicants must be eligible for homeless services in Clark County, WA to be considered. This is an On-Call position. Hours are not guaranteed. On Call Community Cleaners who excel in their job duties will have the opportunity to move into any open full-time positions. Full time is 32-40 hours per week.Share's Mission:

The Community Cleaner position is responsible for cleaning certain portions of the public lands within the City of Vancouver as directed by the Talkin Trash Crew Leader. Community Cleaners are responsible for following safety instructions and traffic laws, utilizing safety gear provided, disposing of trash as instructed by their crew leader and following appropriate guidelines for marking items that may belong to a person experiencing homelessness and waiting for 2he designated time prior to disposal. Unless hired as a crew member to do so, Community Cleaners may not clean up private property. Summary of essential job functions andResponsibilities:
Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of sidewalks and designated areas throughout Vancouver city limits. Performing tasks such as cleaning empty lots, clearing street drains of debris, and raking leaves. Performing the task of loading and unloading various items, such as litter, furniture, appliances, tires and disposables, to the designated wasteland. Performing the task of emptying trash receptacles and replacing them with new liners. Distributing garbage bags to individuals residing outdoors. Responsible for supporting the driver in monitoring the disposables collected through the program tracking system. Active involvement in one of the employment support services such as PIC Career Academy, WorkSource, Goodwill Job Connection, or other skills classes is required. Completing a resume, attending job coaching and case management meetings, and job search tasks are all regular activities that are included in the weekly or bi-weekly routine. Perform other duties as assigned.Abilities required:
The nature of the work involves working outdoors disposing of garbage with low-income, homeless people. Community Cleaners would need to be able to communicate appropriately with diverse people. Occasional first aid may involve exposure to blood and other bodily fluids. Proper training will be given. 1. Ability to use cleaning agents such as soap, polish, disinfectants, etc. 2. Ability to walk, bend, stoop, lift and carry up to 50 pounds. 3. Ability to do overhead work. 4. Ability to learn the proper use of cleaning equipment and supplies. 5. Strong ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment. 6. Ability to follow safety procedures and all other policies outlined by SHARE.Minimum requirements:
1. Must be able to work individually or with a group. 2. Sufficient manual dexterity and physical ability to perform duties. 6. Must be able to work in all adverse weather conditions including but not limited to rain, wind, heat, cold, snow and ice. 7. Must generally bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, reach, pull and lift heavy objects and climb stairs, with reasonable or no accommodation.
