On-Call Turnover Specialist (Vacation Rental Cleaner)

About the Role We are looking for reliable and detail-oriented Turnover Specialists to join our team. In this role, you'll help prepare vacation rental properties between guest stays — ensuring each home is spotless, restocked, and guest-ready for a 5-star experience. This is flexible, on-call work ideal for someone looking for supplemental income and schedule flexibility. While prior short-term rental experience is a plus, it is not required. We provide training/trial cleanings for the right fit. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, communicates well, and is dependable. Key Responsibilities Perform full turnovers between guest stays, including: Cleaning and sanitizing kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, and common areas Changing linens, making beds, and resetting the property to company standards Restocking supplies (when applicable) Reporting damages, maintenance concerns, or inventory shortages Following detailed property checklists and instructions Communicating promptly regarding availability and assignments Completing turnovers efficiently while maintaining quality standards Requirements Strong attention to detail and cleanliness standards Reliability — if you accept an assignment, you are expected to complete it Ability to work independently and/or alongside a teammate when needed Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Reliable transportation and valid driver's license Smartphone capable of receiving schedules, photos, and updates Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods Flexible availability, including weekends and some holidays when needed Preferred but Not Required Experience in cleaning, housekeeping, or hospitality Familiarity with short-term rentals (Airbnb, VRBO, etc.) Compensation This is a 1099 independent contractor position, not a W-2 employee role. Contractors are responsible for their own transportation, taxes, and applicable insurance. Trial/training cleanings are paid hourly starting at $25/hr DOE After onboarding, compensation transitions to flat-rate/per-job pay based on the assignment Most contractors average the equivalent of $30+/hr, with top performers averaging $45+/hr+ depending on efficiency, reliability, and quality of work Performance-based bonuses may be offered for exceptional service and consistent positive guest/owner feedback Contractors are encouraged to use their own supplies/tools, though supplies may be available depending on the assignment. Service Area We service properties throughout Vancouver, WA, the Portland Metro area, and up through Kalama, WA. Contractors are not required to accept every assignment offered. However, preference is given to individuals with strong flexibility, reliability, and willingness to travel within our service areas.
